Irish eyes are smiling in Rockford. Saturday's Saint Patrick's Day Parade will follow the City's traditional parade route that kicks off at 7th Street and 6th Avenue. The City originally planned to reduce the parade route to lower secuirty and set-up costs. But, Winnebago County will provide a half dozen officers for traffic control. The County Highway Department will provide barricades as required. The Saint Patrick's Day Parade will kick off at 3 pm Saturday at 7th Street and 6th Avenue. The marchers will head west on State Street, across the bridge to Main, where they'll head north to Beattie Park.
