Morrissey Doesn't Like Governor's Budget Proposal
Mark Mayhew
3/8/2010

Mayor Larry Morrissey says if Governor Pat Quinn has his way, municipalities across the state will receive a lesser percentage of state tax dollars.

Morrissey says the governor's budget address could put more burden on cities.  Quinn is expected to announce that local government's share of state tax dollars will be reduced by 30% to pay for state pension obligations.

Local units of government would have fewer dollars to pay for its share of pension funds.  The mayor says he and others will travel to Springfield to make their voices heard against the proposal.
